We are so excited to kick off our 1st Annual Buddy Walk 5K! This is a new component to the Buddy Walk that has been running for over 24 years! 

What is the Buddy Walk 5K? 

We encourage you to join our 1st Annual Buddy Walk 5K! This is a fun run that supports Down Syndrome Indiana! The run occurs before the walk begins, so as participants come in from their 5K, they can experience the event and learn more about inclusion, Down syndrome, and much more! 

Do I sign up as a participant, team, or join a team?

Any of the above! If you are running with a running group, co-workers, or family members; Please feel free to make a team! Otherwise, feel free to sign up as a participant! There is an early bird fee then the price goes up as reflected on the registration page! 

Do I have to raise additional money than the registration fee?

Not at all! This is an option if you want to do a pledge system with other community members, family, or friends! They can support you by donating directly to your fundraising page as well to support your 5K efforts!

What is included in the 5K fee? 

You will receive a 5K packet including a quality running shirt and race bib! There will be complimentary post-race snacks, an event medal, and the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will receive a prize! 

When is the Packet Pick-Up? 

The packet pick-up occurs the week before the run! We will email participants specifics as the event gets closer, although it will be downtown Indianapolis at our office! We can mail the packet at an additional charge if you plan to participate virtually. Please email buddywalk@dsindiana.org to learn more about this option. 

Can I participate in both the run and walk? 

Of course! We started the 5K to engage the Indianapolis community in our Annual Buddy Walk event. We encourage runners to grab a snack, listen to post-race tunes, and stop by vendors/exhibitors! If you want to head out after the run, that is completely fine as well! Up to you!

This is a fun run, timed using Webscorer!
